Bean & Bean: Classic Syrups

APRIL 2026

A hypothetical series of classic coffee syrups, featuring acetate packaging that utilizes an illustrated insert. The illustration depicts the plant life that would produce these flavours:

Vanilla planifolia for vanilla. Camellia sinensis, citrus bergamia, and centaurea cyanus for earl grey. Fragaria for strawberry. Lavandula for lavender.

Bean & Bean is a coffee shop that I frequent for my coffee beans. I wanted to pay homage to them by creating a packaging project that could possily elevate their product lines. I had figured a sampler of coffee syrups could be simple to work with.

I also wanted to incorporate more illustration work into my designs and packaging, thus I decided to paint all of the aforementioned plant life in positions corresponding to their respective bottles of syrup. Bean & Bean keeps their layouts minimalistic with their signature purple palette, so I adhered to their branding and used their logos, directed by Jiyoon Han and created by her team.
