The Duo Coffee Bar

A set of advertisements, promoting The Duo Coffee Bar's unique concept as a cafe by day, and bar by night. They boast a minimal aesthetic while emphasizing the illustrative quality of their menus and posters. To reflect their image, I wanted to create advertisements using illustrations and other tactile aspects. I also personally enjoyed working in their space while having a drink, and I feel that not enough people know about it, as it’s in a bit of a far-off location in Flushing.

Working with a minimalist aesthetic was a little challenging, but I settled on a simple palette where the colours represented the time of day. Particularly, the magenta was chosen because of the space’s lights at night. Following the illustrations, I experimented with texture overlays, my favourite being the napkin texture. I also created social media posts and a tote bag design with the same assets.
